Based in Fayetteville, Tennessee, Lisa Williams has spent more than three decades as an accounting, working primarily in the nonprofit center in an executive leadership capacity where she oversaw all of the organization’s financial operations. Apart from her professional life in Fayetteville, Tennessee, Lisa Williams supports the Relay for Life fundraising event sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

Relay for Life is the flagship fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Each year, teams around the country gather in support of loved ones currently battling the disease, as well as in memory those who lost their battle. These relay events range in length from 6-24 hours in which members are continuously walking a track as a reminder that cancer is always present and doesn’t rest, and also as a testament to the perseverance of patients who are bravely fighting against the disease.

These events begin with opening ceremonies, which then give way to a special lap for survivors and another special lap for those who serve as caregivers for cancer patients. Teams then take to the track and walk all day and through the night beneath commemorative luminaries to raise much-needed funding for cancer research.
